The purchase of just a single silo wagon was the founda-tion for long-term success for the Uelzen firm Kobernuss Spedition & Logistik.

32      Ausgabe Eins 2013 Portrait Hubertus Kobernuss proudly says: “My father was always up for an experiment”. The opportunity arose when a choco- late producer in Hanover built a silo and requested that the sugar from the factory in Uelzen was delivered not in sacks, but with- out packaging from that point onwards. “Three firms in Uelzen and its vicinity at that point in time did not dare to invest in this technology. Father said: Yo, I’ll do it. He took the risk and then started transporting sugar”. The brothers Jürgen and Horst Kobernuss actually moved to Uelzen after the war, to get back into farming. They were looking for a farm and wanted to marry, relates Hubertus Kobernuss, who has been leading the firm for the last 20 years. But the proud farm- Entrepreneurship also means to spot chances and take a risk. In 1960, Jürgen Kobernuss did not hesitate for long and ordered his first silo wagon, a decision that shapes the Uelzen firm Kobernuss Spedition & Logistik to this day. Dedicated with a passion
