Clear labelling for uninterrupted workflows

Clearly labelled shipping units facilitate work and ensure uninterrupted workflows. Goods shipments to BPW should therefore be identified with a goods label conforming to VDA 4902, Version 4, BPW specification. This page provides the minimum requirements for the data content as well as a sample.

This specification must be adhered to unless other agreements are made between the supplier and the receiving BPW plant.

All mandatory data and barcodes must be shown on the goods label. According to recommendations by the VDA and ODETTE, Code 39 should be used. Code 128 is acceptable as well.

How to communicate quality improvements

In the event that quality measures need to take place,  we require a statement and documentation in the form of an 8D Report.

Please complete the 8D Report, which can be downloaded below, and send it by e-mail or fax (+49 (0) 2262 78-1512) to BPW Purchasing. Please note that this document is binding in terms of its content.

What to do in the case of deviations from the specification

To document deviations from the specification, we require a statement in the form of a Design Deviation Application.

The supplier must fill in the deviation request and send it to supplier’s contact in the BPW Purchasing Department. The supplier is liable for all costs that BPW will incur in connection with the examination of the deviation request. The same applies to any additional costs that BPW might incur through use of the material that was approved with the deviation request implemented. Please note that the deviation request is binding in terms of its content.
