However, for functional reasons, all these advantages have so far only been realised when driving forwards. When reversing, the steering mechanism is locked and the axle remains rigid. From now on, you will benefit from all the advantages of the self-steering axle - even when reversing in manoeuvring mode. With Active Reverse Control (ARC), BPW has developed a new electro-hydraulic auxiliary steering system that steers the steering axle fully automatically when reversing at speeds of up to 10 km/h.
Active steering with ARC is now also available for travelling forwards. The manoeuvrability of the trailer in manoeuvring mode is significantly improved once again. This increases the agility and manoeuvrability of your vehicles when manoeuvring and reduces time and tyre wear!
