BPW sets standards in sustainability and resource protection

Our responsibility - BPW Bergische Achsen

Sustainability and resource conservation became immovable cornerstones of BPW's corporate culture a long time ago. With an internal code of conduct, BPW and its employees agree, among other things, on how to deal fairly with one another and with customers and suppliers, on occupational safety or on environmental protection. In summer 2016, moreover, BPW joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) initiative launched by the former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan. BPW has therefore officially undertaken to embed within its operations the principles of observing human rights and fostering environmental protection. In an annual Communication on Progress we record how BPW is translating its commitment into long-term practice within the framework of its corporate responsibility.

With the international IATF 16949 standard, BPW has expanded its range of quality standards and is thus moving into the global top league of automotive suppliers. The agreed specifications of the leading automotive groups, suppliers and associations ("International Automotive Task Force") extend existing national and international standards with numerous additional requirements and process documentation.
