For many generations, BPW has followed the guiding principle of the ‘honest trader’. As notably old-fashioned as this term may seem today, the values it embodies are more relevant than ever: integrity, honesty, diligence, decency, respect, lawfulness, loyalty, responsibility, long-term thinking and reliability. These are values which anchor and guide us. They define BPW's strong trust in our employees, customers and business partners, guide the company as we develop new ideas and grow the business and they manifest themselves in BPW's commitment to society and the environment.

As a family-owned company, we think and act in generations, not financial quarters: sustainability and corporate responsibility have been our guiding principles for 125 years. We are guided in our endeavours by the values of the honest trader, to secure the success of BPW in the long-term while operating in harmony with our environment. Realising responsibility has had a long tradition in our company, which we aim to show through our continued membership at the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest and most important initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate governance.

The UN Global Compact pursues the vision of an inclusive and sustainable economy for the benefit of all people, communities and markets today and in the future, on the basis of ten universal principles with the focus on human rights, working standards, compliance and environmental protection, as well as 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

It has always been a natural part of business for BPW to take responsibility for protecting nature and to optimise all of the company’s activities to benefit the environment. In this context, energy and environmental management are considered a crucial obligation of the corporate management. We set ourselves clear goals in order to continuously improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Certification according to ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 50001: 2018 is clear proof of these activities. These certify that BPW has an energy and environmental management system which complies with internationally recognised standards.

SOCIAL COMMITMENT

Our commitment doesn't end at the factory gates. In addition to the health of our own employees, the health and appreciation of the truck drivers who keep our industry running is also of great importance. That's why we are not only committed to medical care for our professional drivers on the road as DocStop location, we also support initiatives such as PROFI association (Pro Fahrer Image e.V.).

Together with our employees, we are also reforesting our region, supporting regional institutions through cooperative actions and conveying democratic values to the younger generation in our company, as well as how they can take on social responsibility.

We have committed to acting in a responsible, ethically impeccable and lawful manner.

In order to create a trusting environment for all employees, customers and partners and to sustainably promote the success of our company, we have compiled these important general rules and principles into a Code of Conduct at BPW. It acts as a guide for everyone in the company – company management, management staff and every single employee.
